Making the decision to run for Circuit Judge in Lake county was a difficult process.  After, all I have a great job.  Since 2005, I’ve been an Associate Judge hearing a variety cases and gaining a tremendous amount of judging experience.  I enjoy my work.  So why make a change?

My parents never finished high school and we never had a lot of money.    But my parents taught us that we had an obligation to share, not just money, but our gifts as well.

My brother had the math gift.  My sister Pat had the organization and the nurturing gifts while Cathy (the baby) had the ability to make my parents happy.  My gift, I think, was the ability to see problems and try to seek solutions.  Each of us learned to use those gifts to help not just ourselves but others as well.

These life lessons have stayed with me and have played an important role in my decision to make public service my career.

I decided to run for Circuit Judge from sub circuit 3 because I want to be a part of the 19th Judicial Circuit’s decision making body.  I want to help determine the future of the Lake County justice system by evaluating new programs, that may assist those seeking access to justice in each of our Lake County Courts.  I want to be sure that our tax dollars spent in the best interests of all who participate in the legal process.

I often think back to the life lessons I received from my family and Church so many years ago and am grateful for them.  Those lessons inspired me to “do good” where I could.  Now I’d like to “do good” as your Circuit Judge in Sub Circuit 3, Lake County Illinois.
